Alfredo Borboa,
(Mexico City, 1986)
Artist, designer and teacher, specialized in new technologies.Nowadays he works and teaches the usage of open-source platforms such as Arduino, Processing, OpenFrameworks and PureData. His works distinguish for experimenting with electronic media, analogous and digital, with the intention of using its intrinsic qualities.
With sound art, digital programming, electronic art and net-art, the artist focuses on shaping the diverse manifestations of how we represent, conceive and engage with our environment. His artwork raises an exercise of knowledge that moves from the intelligible to the sensible. He creates moving drawings, recreates movement and the behavior of cloth, builds robots capable of drawing, creates interactive environments with water or decomposes the space between every letter in a quote.
He has been in more than 20 solo and collective exhibitions, specialized conferences and roundtables in the Academia de San Carlos, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de León, Guanajuato, Centro Bancomer, Centro de Diseño, Cine y Televisión, Laboratorio Arte Alameda, Centro Cultural Border, Universidad Anáhuac, Fonoteca Nacional, Galería Mexicana de Diseño, CENART, Galería ¼, Central del Pueblo, Sala de Arte Público Siqueiros, Universidad de Las Américas, Puebla and Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana, D.F.
